Code Enforcement
Code Enforcement's mission is to promote and maintain a safe and desirable living and working environment. We help maintain and improve the quality of our city by administering a fair and unbiased enforcement program to correct violations of municipal code, as well as working with residents, neighborhood associations, public services agencies and other City departments. The City of Tupelo adopted Ordinances and Codes
- Establish the procedure for the repair and demolition of dilapidated and unsafe buildings.
- Gives the City of Tupelo the authority to clean private property that is overgrown, unclean or has dilapidate structures on it.
- Set minimum property maintenance and community appearance standards regarding junk vehicles, junk, open storage, screening of junkyards
and restrictions on parking commercial vehicles in residential districts.
The Ordinances and Codes are specifically designed to ensure the absence of blight, nuisances, and to maintain a clean environment for all citizens in our city. This is done by working in partnership with the people of Tupelo.
